Project Title: Compassionate Action: Healing the Mind, Body & Spirit

Project Description: The activities of this project include One on One Counselling, Group Counselling, an Elder Outreach Program, a One Step Ahead Youth Mentoring Program, and delivery of Gatherings, Socials and Healings.   These methods involve group interaction, sharing and listening, cultural teachings and spirituality. We believe that these methods will affect change because they will provide support, validation, education, prevention and early intervention and active doing.  Metis people learn from performing actions rather then monotonous lectures. The goal of the project is to break the cycle of abuses and assist Metis people, Metis families and the Metis community in their move toward healing and self-reliance. Given this, the project methods and activities will encompass all the elements of healing and wellness from a holistic perspective:  mind, heart, body and spirit. All of these parts are interdependent; and to restore balance each of the parts must be whole.
