Project Description: The
project is residential and traditional in nature. It will address
healing in a holistic way, by offering a 4 week residential program
consisting of traditional teachings that are consistent with First
Nation healing practices that reflect the mental, emotional, spiritual,
and physical components of the holistic model, and incorporating
Aboriginal and mainstream healing approaches. The project will utilize
traditional respected Elders from the Treaty IV area which include the
Cree, Ojibway, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, and Lakota Nations. The
project will also offers an after care follow-up program.
Project Description: White Raven Healing Centre – Add-on Program:
The project provides the following healing activities; Traditional healing, contemporary trauma treatment and resolution methods, individual - group and family counselling, out-patient therapy in trauma treatment and resolution. The project also refers and case manages with health and child welfare services in the Agencies & First Nations in the Tribal Council area, Reserve and Agency services. The project enhances its program by human resource development support and stress management training for staff, establishes culturally appropriate programming to meet the healing needs of the community. Programming includes: Screening Assessment, Motivational Assessment, Introductory Group Sessions, Intensive Therapy Sessions, Aftercare Planning, and Aftercare.
